UMD Women’s Basketball Eyeing First Undefeated Regular Season in 20 Years

The last time the Bulldogs were unbeaten at home was the 1999-2000 season.

DULUTH, Minn. – The UMD women’s basketball team are wrapping up their home schedule this weekend and some history will be on the line as the Bulldogs could finish undefeated at Romano Gym for the first time since 2000. And the team sees it as a way to give back to the community that has supported them all season.

“Being a student-athlete here, we take pride in classroom, competition and community. They’re like our three C’s. To see people you know that come to every game and you see them out on the town or whatever, it’s cool just to be able to make them proud,” said senior forward Katie Stark.

“I love when our parents can come out here because they’re goofy but entertaining. I would have to imagine we have the best parental support I think in our league. They’re amazing and it’s so nice to have them all here when we play at home,” head coach Mandy Pearson said.

UMD will face Northern State Friday night at 5:30 p.m. and host MSU-Moorhead Saturday in their home finale for senior night.
