HERMANTOWN, Minn. – The Hermantown to Minnesota Duluth hockey pipeline continues as Hawks junior defenseman Joey Pierce announced on Twitter on Friday that he has verbally committed to joining the Bulldogs.

Pierce finished the regular season with 15 goals and 32 assists.

Pierce is the next Hawk to become a Bulldog. Current teammate Blake Biondi and former teammate Darian Gotz are both UMD commits, and current Bulldogs Dylan Samberg, Jesse Jacques and Cole Koepke are all Hermantown alums. UMD assistant coach Adam Krause is also a former Hawk and Bulldog.

Pierece and the Hawks are the top seed in the section 7A playoffs and will open things up on Tuesday night against the winner of the play-in game between Hibbing and North Shore.
