The meeting will take place Monday, September 21st at 9 a.m.

BROOKLYN PARK, Minn. – After a nearly four-hour workshop meeting Tuesday afternoon, the Minnesota State High School League has scheduled a special meeting for Monday morning at 9 a.m. with one agenda item: reconsider placement of fall activities seasons, in this case football and volleyball.

This comes as communities across the state continued their push for the league to reconsider their decision to move those sports to the spring. Board members also spoke about sending surveys to schools beginning Wednesday to receive feedback about the potential decision.

Potential start dates were also discussed during Tuesday’s meeting. The first football practices could start September 21st with the earliest dates for games beginning on October 2nd. For volleyball, practices could start October 12th and the first matches begin October 22nd. Football and volleyball teams have been allowed to hold three weeks of practices starting this week with a maximum of 12 sessions during that time frame.
