I-35 Lane Closures Start Today in Duluth

DULUTH, Minn. – Starting today north and southbound drivers on I-35 will encounter lane closures at 27th Avenue West and near the Garfield Avenue overpass in Duluth.

Lane closures are expected to remain in place for approximately three to four weeks during the construction of median crossovers on I-35 in preparation for the Twin Ports Interchange project.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation says once the crossovers are complete, I-35 will return to two lanes in each direction.

Daytime lane closures will continue as needed for crews to work on the replacement of the 27th Avenue West Bridge this winter.

Motorists are encouraged to allow for extra time before traveling and to check www.511mn.org for road conditions, closures, and detour routes.
