Keetac Mine Restarts Production

KEEWATIN, Minn. – Operations have restarted at the Keetac mine, according to Union Rep. Dan Pierce.

A company spokesperson says plans are currently in the works to bring back about 400 employees.

The site had been idle since May of this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

U.S. Steel owned Minntac reopened production lines 6 and 7 at the end of July.
