St. Louis County Public Health Prepares for Johnson & Johnson Vaccine

ST. LOUIS COUNTY – St. Louis County Public Health is preparing to receive the Johnson & Johnson one-shot vaccine after St. Luke’s and Essentia received theirs yesterday.

The county hasn’t received confirmation on when they will be getting it or how many doses they’ll be receiving.

As multiple systems are getting out and receiving more vaccines in general, the issue has been supply. They say the next few weeks will be telling as to how quickly they can move through the phases.

“We’re really excited that a third vaccine has been authorized for emergency use by the federal drug administration or the FDA,” said Amy Westbrook, the public health division director for St. Louis County. “It adds another vaccine to the vaccines that we can draw from.”
