Northland Boys Hockey Season to Culminate in All-Star Game

Puck drop from the Heritage Center is set for 7:15 p.m.

DULUTH, Minn. – Tuesday night, the Northland boys hockey season will come to an end with the annual Essentia All-Star hockey game.

34 players will take part in the event, with Eveleth-Gilbert’s Jeff Torrel and Hermantown’s Patrick Andrews serving as head coaches. And for the seniors, it will be the final game of their high school careers.

“Last game of high school and being on an all-star team so that’s pretty cool. I get to play against the best players. And I got another teammate, Nick Troutwine. He’s on the other team so it’s pretty cool we can play against each other,” Eveleth-Gilbert forward Brandon Lind said.

“I know a lot of the kids on my team and a lot of the kids on the other team. It should be fun playing against them and with them. I think it should be a great way to end my high school career,” Cloquet-Esko-Carlton goalie Zach Tyman added.

Tickets must be purchased in advance on the Kern and Kompany website. Puck drop at the Heritage Center is set for 7:15 p.m.
