UWS Softball Team Welcomes New Head Coach Melissa Fracker

The Yellowjackets will be back in action on Tuesday for their home opener against North Central.

SUPERIOR, Wis. – It’s a new era of softball for Wisconsin-Superior with Melissa Fracker as the new head coach. The team has already had to deal with some postponements but it has allowed more time for her to get to know her players.

“Number one: I love that I don’t have to make them do stuff together. They do it because they like to. So that kind of team culture you can’t make. And number two: we fight. No matter what the score is, what the inning is, we fight no matter what. And again, something I don’t think you can teach so I love that about them,” Fracker said.

“She definitely brings a different aspect and outlook to the program. And I love it because she comes from the outfield, lefty slapper background, and that’s exactly what I am so it’s really cool to have her,” junior outfielder Olivia Bancroft-Hart added.
