The Historical Old Central High School Sells for $3 Million

DULUTH, Minn. — A famous landmark in Duluth is officially being sold.

The historical Old Central High School is selling for $3 million dollars to Saturday Properties, which intends on restoring the property and maintaining its historic beauty while turning it into 121 housing units.

Superintendent John Magas, says the school is one of the most iconic buildings in Duluth, which is why it is good to know the school will maintain its image, “so I think it’s important for us to know that the history of this beautiful building will be preserved for generations to come”.

The building will be named Zenith DCHS after a yearbook title at the former school, and will need close to 49 million dollars in renovations. The developer hopes to secure tax credits to help cover some of that cost.
