SUPERIOR, Wis. – Superior police say the suspect in a Wednesday evening armed robbery and shoplifting incident was located and arrested in Duluth following a short pursuit from Superior.

Authorities say officers responded to a CVS located at North 28th Street and Tower Avenue around 5:45 p.m. on reports of an armed robbery.

Police say the suspect had robbed the store and a 68-year-old female customer after he shocked her with “an electric weapon device.”

After speaking with other businesses in the area officers learned that the suspect had also shoplifted from the Superior Walmart prior to the armed robbery.

Authorities say after reviewing security footage from Walmart they were able to identify a vehicle driven by the suspect.

Around 9:36 p.m. a Superior officer located the suspect vehicle driving on the Belknap Viaduct and attempted to stop the vehicle.

According to police, the vehicle fled leading officers on a short pursuit that ended at the Blatnik Bridge.

The suspect vehicle continued over the bridge to Duluth where authorities say the suspect was eventually located and apprehended by Minnesota law enforcement.

The Superior Police Department later learned that the suspect had committed at least one additional robbery in Minnesota after the robbery in Superior.
