One Injured in Early Morning Hwy 61 Crash

Speed and alcohol are believed to be contributing factors in the crash.

DULUTH, Minn. — Just after 6 a.m. Wednesday morning the Duluth police department responded to a crash on Highway 61 near Congdon boulevard.

The 31-year-old driver from Shakopee was driving southbound at a high rate of speed when the vehicle collided with railroad lights and a guardrail.

The driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries and is being treated at a local hospital.
