Lake Superior College Offering Firefighting Course

DULUTH, Minn.– Lake Superior College is offering a firefighting education course this fall that includes all of the requirements needed to become a full-time firefighter.

22 people are needed to fill the course, so the college is looking for at least 6 more to sign up.

The class offers everything needed to pursue a firefighting career, like learning how to work with fire hydrants and nozzles, live fire training evolutions, and gas detector operations.

“This class is a great opportunity for minimal investment or potentially for a scholarship opportunity to try something new, and try a new career and possibly change your life,” Jon Otis, Deputy Chief of Life Safety, said.

The course starts next month and costs around $1,300, but scholarships are offered.
