Cat Saved in Morgan Park House Fire

DULUTH, Minn. – A cat was safely rescued from a Wednesday night kitchen fire in Morgan Park.

The Duluth Fire Department says crews responded to a report of a kitchen on fire around 9:17 p.m. at 843 87th Avenue West.

The fire department reports that all occupants were out of the home upon arrival but a cat was still trapped inside.

After knocking down the fire, crews found the cat in the basement and removed it from the house.

No injuries were reported.

Damage to the home is estimated at $25,000.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
