The Hills Closing

DULUTH, Minn. – On Wednesday, Stella Maris Academy announced the purchase of the former Hills Youth and Family Services property.

The property will be the site of the Academy’s new high school which is set to open in the fall of 2022.

The former Hills property is adjacent to the St. John’s campus and is situated on 140 acres of land.

According to a Wednesday press release, the property includes a main campus building, gymnasium, and numerous outbuildings.

The site was purchased for $4 million and was secured by entirely private donations.

President of Stella Maris Academy, Mr. Andrew Hilliker said, “Many people have been working hard and praying for a long-term, viable place to welcome students to high school in the Fall of 2022. This property is bringing our efforts and goals to a very real and meaningful place. Our students will feel the benefits of this for years to come and we are forever grateful for the opportunity.”

A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held later this year, but a date has yet to be set.
