UW System President Visits Area College

The clinic is also open to the public.

SUPERIOR, Wisc. — The President of the University of Wisconsin system was in Superior today to tour the campus vaccination clinic.

The former governor of Wisconsin Thommy Thompson was also in town promoting students to get their Covid-19 vaccine.

The UW System president set up 70 scholarships for universities in the system that get seventy percent of their students vaccinated.

Right now, UWS is 100 students short.

Thompson says that getting the vaccine will keep students learning on-campus.

“I want these students to be healthy. I want students to enjoy life and enjoy schools and that’s why it’s so important to be vaccinated,” UW System President, Tommy Thompson says.

University of Wisconsin Superior is one of three universities that have yet to reach the seventy percent vaccination goal.

The clinic is also open to the public.
