UMD Men’s Hockey Ready for Defensive Battle With Third-Ranked Western Michigan

DULUTH, Minn. – The UMD men’s hockey team will be back at home this weekend to take on third-ranked Western Michigan.

Don’t expect a lot of goals in this series as both teams rank inside the top three in goals against average. The Bulldogs and Broncos met back in November as UMD split the series in Kalamazoo.

“They’re a tough team in their building so I’m glad we went in there early and we know what to expect and we got some points out of there because I thought it was a real good series. Both games were good for us. They scored late to win the first night, but I thought we came back with a really good effort. We’ll see if they’re the same type of team here,” head coach Scott Sandelin said.

Puck drop at Amsoil Arena is set for 7 p.m.
