Bong Center Announces New Executive

SUPERIOR, Wis. — The Richard I. Bong Veteran’s center is happy to announce that they have a brand new Executive Director.

John Gidley has been involved with the center for years, as part of the education branch of the center.

He says he is so excited to take on this new role and wants to continue the legacy of Richard I. Bong as he was taught the story when he was a child.

He hopes to bring more outreach and community interaction events to the City of Superior, and encourage more people to stop by at any time.

“I’ve known the story since I was at a young age, and always had great admiration for major bong, and great passion for the story, and I always thought he deserved more credit than he was given, and I’m glad that I, in some small part way, get to keep carrying the story on and pushing it forward,” John Gidley, the new Executive Director of the museum said.

Gidley officially started February 10th, and has taken this week to fully transition to his new role as Executive Director.
