Art Exhibition at Tweed Museum of Art

DULUTH, Minn. – Tuesday, UMD celebrated its annual student exhibition at the Tweed Museum of Art.

The exhibition is work completed by art and design students from the past year. The theme this year was layers, and two professionals from outside of UMD looked at submissions and selected 67 works to be included.

The art is on display at the Tweed Museum and is open for viewing through the weekend.

“I am always surprised by how thoughtful the work is and every year it’s different. This is an annual exhibition and each one has it’s own voice and it’s own difference and so every year I’m a little surprised by how all of it goes together, because when you see the pieces individually they tell a different story but together they really showcase a lot of the greatness that is in our department,” Department of Art and Design at UMD Department Head, Jennifer Webb says.

Also Tuesday, scholarship recipients were announced for the upcoming fall semester.
