Cause for Paws Exhibit at Tweed Museum of Art

DULUTH, Minn. – Cause for Paws, an art exhibition put on by senior design students is now on display at the Tweed Museum of Art.

The exhibit is the final project for a group of seven students in the design program at UMD. The event is set up to raise money for the non-profit Animal Allies. Half of the display is artwork done by animals in the care of Animal Allies and half by students.

For a few of the students, inspiration for their art stemmed from their own pets.

“For at least all of our individual ones a lot of us actually did ones of either animals in our lives or just of animals in general. I know for mine at least, that’s my cat, I did water colorings of my cat. I know other people did that as well, some people have dogs that they put up. And then, all of this art that was totally interpretive, so that was all the animals,” Cause for Paws Exhibit Install/Artist, Ginger Leonard says.

All art in the exhibit is up for bid, and bidding will close when the display does on May 6th.
