Minnesota Fishing Opener Happening This Weekend
With the weather looking nice for this weekend, Fisherman's Corner says they're just starting to get busy and see people getting their boats out as they prepare to start the season.
DULUTH, Minn. – After Wisconsin held its fishing opener this past weekend, Minnesotans are now getting ready to hit the lakes this weekend.
Although the weather looks promising on Saturday and Sunday, the dragged-out winter slowed down preparations. Fisherman’s Corner says they’re just starting to get busy and see people getting their boats out.
They added that a concern of customers is having enough bait in stock, but they’ll be getting more in throughout the week and will be ready.
“Hopefully we’ll have some rainbow chubs and some shiners but we’re still going through that. It’s a process right now and with the weather and where it’s at but we should be pretty set up for bait. I’m expecting a lot of people anxious to get out especially if we get some nice weather for the opener,” owner of Fisherman’s Corner Matthew King said.
The owner of Fisherman’s Corner says he expects some of the spots in Duluth will be busier due to some of the water up on the North Shore still having some ice cover.
