Enbridge Speaks Out About the Pipeline Attacks

Enbridge confirmed that today, October 11, 2016, that activists were caught trespassing at the site in Clearbrook, Minnesota. As a result, Enbridge “temporarily shut down the lines 4 and 67 out of an abundance of caution to protect communities, first responders, and the protestors.” The company does not believe that there are any customer impacts to deliveries at this time.

Magnetation Announces Potential Shutdown of Minnesota Facilities

This comes after the company filed for bankruptcy and idling of other MN facilities

Magnetation LLC announced Friday that it may implement a shutdown of its Minnesota iron ore concentrate plant, rail loading facility and Pellet Plant located in Reynolds, Indiana. If implemented, a shutdown would occur on or after September 30,2016.

Forest Service Holds First Twin Metals Lease Renewal Listening Session

The session brought hundreds to the DECC to hear public opinion on mineral leases near the Boundary Waters Wilderness watershed.

The Forest Service held their first public listening session on two Twin Metals mineral leases. The Forest Service is deciding whether or not to renew the leases. The leases are located in the same watershed as the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness.
