The almost $45 million dollar building had it's grand opening Friday after 18 months of construction

Classes at the Heikkila Chemistry and Advanced Materials Science Building are expected to begin by the Fall of 2019.

DULUTH, Minn. – Chemistry and biology are two of University of Minnesota Duluth’s (UMD) biggest programs.
