Charter Communications came to Duluth to give away free safe and healthy home kits as part of its national philanthropic initiative.
Charter developed the safe and healthy home kits with help from Lowe's and Rebuilding Together, a leading national non–profit in healthy housing.
The kits contain items families can put to use immediately to improve the safety of their home. The kit contains all–purpose cleaner, disinfecting wipes, a first aid kit a flashlight and much more.
Kathy Greiner, the Executive Director, said "If you have carpet that's dirty, it can trigger asthma attacks. If you have mold, that can too so we want to promote good health."
240 free kits were distributed on a first–come, first–served basis.
