TurboTax Resumes Filings
(AP) — Intuit, the company behind the TurboTax do-it-yourself tax preparation software, said it has resumed processing state tax returns after putting them on hold for about 24 hours.
They were put on hold because state agencies reported a rise in filings with stolen personal information.
Most victims found out that a fraudulent tax return was submitted in their name when they received a rejection notice after filing their returns.
New fraud protections are said to be in place.
