Thousands of kids across Minnesota, including in the Northland, got free dental care Friday.

It’s part of national “Give Kids a Smile Day.”

Anyone under 18-years-old got anything from cleaning to extractions all for free.

Duluth Lake Superior College dental hygiene students and volunteer dentists performed the procedures promoting good oral hygiene.

“Fantastic, super friendly, very fast service,” said Jodi Tervo Roberts, whose daughter got her teeth cleaned. “Great dentist and students, so yeah, it’s been awesome.”

About 200 clinics in Minnesota participated in the event.
