For more than a year the Twin Ports Stage has had its eye on buying and renovating the old Dunbar building on Tower Avenue.

The theatre’s director tells FOX 21 the Dunbar facility is well suited for their purposes and it needs the least amount of renovations.

The goal is to house a multi–use arts facility for theatre, music and film along with community and private events.

Twin Ports Stage director says right now they are actively working with the city and Business Improvement District to flesh out a plan to move forward.

Theatre staff believe the new addition will help bring in even more business into Superior’s downtown.

“The vision is spectacular,” Twin Ports Stage Director Victoria Main said. “The vision is this incredible facility that can house all kinds of different things and is really cool and hip and has kind of a nice vibe. Will have a little bar and cafe so that people can hang out and be cool.”

The Dunbar building is going for a little more than $100,000.

Twin Ports Stage has fundraised to work towards purchasing the building.

The theatre is also looking for people who want to donate and join their steering committee.

If any of that interests you just send them a message on their Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/TwinPortsStage/info?tab=page_info .

The theatre is hoping to start construction in the next 3 months and be open in 2016.
