Pot Plants Seized in Duluth Township Bust

On March 19th 2015, Duluth Township Police executed a drug search warrant at 1564 Torgeson Road in Duluth Township.

Duluth Township Police were assisted by members of the MN State Patrol, MN Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and Deputies of the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Department.

Police were investigating a strong odor of Marijuana emitting from the residence which resulted in the application for a search warrant and subsequent execution of such on March 19th.

Several adult individuals were found to be in the residence at the time of the raid as well as one individual whom had just purchased marijuana and was leaving upon the arrival of the search warrant team.

Officers located a substantial Marijuana grow operation inside the trailer home at this address as well as numerous packages of Marijuana in a “ready for sale” state of storage.

In all, officers seized approximately 77 Marijuana plants growing in pots in various stages of growth ranging from 16 inches to nearly 5 feet tall.

Officers seized nearly an additional six (6) pounds of harvested Marijuana packaged and ready for sale.

Total estimated seizure value is $100,000.00.

Officers also seized several hundred dollars in U.S currency believed to be proceeds from drug transactions at the residence.

Additionally, officers seized several thousand dollars’ worth of grow equipment to include lights, climate control devices, and video monitoring equipment.

The residence was being rented and occupied by a 57 year old Duluth man and his 26 year old son.

Charges are pending against the father son duo for felony drug manufacturing.
