Nearly a dozen eateries in Superior are dishing out traditional favorites and new items at a reduced price for the first ever Chamber Restaurant Week.
For restaurant week Captain Barkers Restaurant at Barkers Island Inn is serving up an entire new menu.
“I am looking forward to being feared by our competitors,” Captain Barkers Restaurant Executive Chef Kevin Cousins said.
Cousins created the menu.
“I sat up really late one night and kind of just of brainstorming,” said Cousins.
The new menu includes breakfast, lunch and dinner options where the ingredients do all the talking.
“I would say modern American with a twist,” said Cousins. “Imagination, creativity, but nothing like too off the wall.”
Seafood linguine, apple coin cakes and the Superior burger are just a few items.
“I want to get people in Superior to recognize this place as a new and upcoming restaurant with a new menu,” said Cousins.
Red Mug Coffeehouse and Bakeshop is also getting in on the Chamber Restaurant Week.
“We have a great atmosphere here,” Red Mug barista Mikhael Moore said. “It’s great for all occasions whether it’s just hanging out with friends or coming in to just read by yourself. You can do it all here.”
For $20 bucks you can get buckets of Bent Paddle beer or a baguette platter with a bottle of wine.
“We’ve got this baguette sliced up and it comes with a side of hummus and pesto, it’s really good,” said Moore.
They believe the new campaign will help to bring in new business while showing locals and visitors what Superior has to offer.
“I think it’s going to bring awareness you know,” said Moore. “Get us back on the map, all that kind of stuff.”
Restaurant week will run through next Saturday.
