If you aren’t in the spring mood yet, maybe the grand opening of Gordy’s will help.
Imagine this: It’s a nice day out and you’re in the mood for food, a burger to be exact.
But, you’re also in the mood for a certain type of atmosphere.
Well, no worries because Gordy’s is officially open.
Customers were at the door 30 minutes before they opened and regulars say you miss the season if you don’t come the first day.
There’s no denying the tradition customers have on opening day.
After a long winter, we all need a taste of spring and what better way to celebrate than by indulging in some good summer eats.
First opened by Gordy and Marilyn Lundquist, the restaurant is still owned and operated by the Lundquist family.
“I actually have a son working here this year. So, there’s 3 generations working this season,” said Gordy’s son, Dan Lundquist.
The joint still takes pride in it’s old fashioned ways.
“We still hand patty hamburgers the old fashion way and make homemade onion rings everyday,” said Lundquist.
When asked what the favorite item on the menu was, this is what workers and customers had to say: cheeseburger, double cheeseburger, onion rings and fish burgers.
The quick service and great flavors have people coming back for more.
The local burger joint is also adding healthier options to their menu.
Gordy’s is open Monday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
