Duluth Students Out of Classroom for Community Service
Lakeview Christian Academy Takes a Day of Service
Some Duluth high schoolers took a day off from classwork – to do some work out in the community.
Students from Lakeview Christian Academy helped prepare food at Union Gospel Mission.
Lakeview calls March “Community Connections Month,” and Wednesday students were at four locations in Duluth.
The students involved say community service teachers them valuable lessons for the future.
“[It’s about] learning responsibility – real world responsibility,” said senior Calven Bonin. “[We’re] doing things that require learning and job training, following instructions, being humble, being a servant.”
High school students at Lakeview are required to have at least 30 service hours each school year.
