Local high schoolers got hands-on experiencing in a field that’s growing.
Hermantown and Denfeld students spent their day at Lake Superior College’s new downtown center to learn about all things in integrated manufacturing.
Students participated in welding, computer design and machinery workshops — and it was not just for the boys.
“If like a guy is doing a job and a girl can go up right next to him and do the same job just as good,” Hermantown student Macey Maggzas said. “It just shows guys like girls are able to do things like that too.”
Students from Silver Bay and Two Harbors will also participate in the event later on in the semester.
