The Boys and Girls Club of the Northland kicked off a brand new event.
The nonprofit hosted the inaugural Kicks for Kids Indoor Soccer Classic inside the Duluth Heritage Sports Center.
Twenty teams of kids played at least 3 games each.
The event helped to raise more than $7,000 dollars for Northland Boys and Girls Club programs.
“Our programs are centered around education,” Northland Boys and Girls Club Resource Development Director Jeff Woolverton said. “We provide meals for kids everyday after school. We also partner with local schools and other businesses to help our kids not only complete in school but prepare for college as well.”
Winners took home bragging rights, but every player was awarded with a certificate.
Event organizers say they will definitely hold another Kicks for Kids next year.
