A hefty donation is helping a project in Superior move forward.

Funding from Enbridge and the Wisconsin Towns Association will help Douglas County continue efforts to develop a watershed plan for the Lake Superior basin.

Project officials say the plan will help them to make more informed decisions, provide a basis for potential wetland locations and help them access more assistance.

“There are not many plans like this in existence and so Douglas County’s will be one of the first,” Douglas County Conservationist Christine Ostern said. “We’re just very excited to have the support of both Enbridge Energy and the Towns Association.”

Enbridge donated $10,000 to the project and the Wisconsin Towns Association gave $250.
