The Humane Society of Douglas County kicked off their annual Sloppy Joe Lunch and Bake Sale at the Douglas County Courthouse in Superior.

Proceeds from the event will go towards helping to feed and care for homeless animals at their shelter.

“Most people that are animal owners know how much it costs just to take care of their own animals,” Humane Society of Douglas County Secretary Board of Directors Jean Kioski said. “When you’re looking at a shelter setting and you have all the strays coming in many, many times they need medical care.”

If you missed this one don’t worry.

The Humane Society of Douglas County will kick off their Paws for Love fundraiser April 25th.
