About 80% of Americans will celebrate Easter this year which means big business for local shops.

One of the holiest holidays is just days away and shops like Imagine That Florist and Gifts in west Duluth are bustling with business.

This Easter, candy, clothing and of course flowers are in high demand.

Retail reports expect Easter spending to total about $16.4 billion dollars with the average person shelling out about $140 bucks on decorations, gifts, food and more.

Imagine That is getting a lot of orders online, from walk-ins and customers calling ahead for Easter lilies.

“It just seems to fit right in right next to that turkey or ham or whatever they’re eating,” Imagine That Florist and Gifts Owner Susan Kempffer said. “It’s a nice gift. Usually a lot of people will buy something if they’re going to someone’s home like a lily and bring it with them.”

The warmer weather is also causing a lot of other spring flowers and plants to fly off the shelves.

With Easter falling on a Sunday some business are expecting to be busy all weekend.
