People living on Park Point are asking the City of Duluth for a dog park in the area.
Pam and Tom Griggs proposed the idea after seeing how highly beneficial they are in different places throughout the country.
The park would sit at the end of the road along the water which the Griggs say is the main attraction of the proposed area.
“That area is used in the winter by ice fisherman but it’s not used that much in the summer. So, that was the reason for aiming for that spot,” said Pam.
She also says it would be more convenient to have their little pup interact with other dogs closer to their home.
“It helps them socialize with each other which I think is really good. We can all compare training options but I would come a lot.”
City leaders say they will only support it if they whole community wants it.
