Immediately following the Easter fire, one of the most notable things The Red Cross stated was how many children were affected by the fire.
Jodi Lavoie and her 3–year–old son, Eli, were among those who lost everything in the fire.
Eli is celebrating his birthday this weekend, and Skyline Lanes donated space for Eli and his 20 classmates to celebrate his 4th birthday at their bowling alley.
A mother whose children go to school with Eli, lost her home to a fire not too long ago, and knows how important it is to help the kids stay happy after losing everything they know.
“To just make a child’s life happy after losing it really helps, I think, a child get over a loss like that a lot quicker than for us as parents, but then Jodi gets the joy of seeing him be able to have that all supplied and taken care of, too,” said Sarah Dlouhy.
Two mothers who are friendly with Jodi Lavoie have created a donations website to raise money for Jodi and Eli as they try to get back on their feet.

Lake Region Storage Unit has provided one of their units at no cost for furniture donations that the victims can sort through once they have figured out a permanent housing situation.
