Tuesday afternoon, Former Lt. Governor Yvonne Prettner-Solon announced she will not be running for Duluth’s next Mayor.
Instead, she gave support behind Duluth City Council President, Emily Larson.
Larson thanked Prettner-Solon for her 28 years of public service and says aligning their efforts will be good for Duluth and all of the residents.
“There is probably no one in Duluth who has the lasting legacy and depth of expertise that Yvonne Prettner-Solon does. Thank you, Yvonne, for your support and for your commitment as a trusted advisor to me and this campaign,” Larson stated.
As Larson’s advisor, Prettner-Solon says she is confident they can do great things together.
“Our partnership will bring good things not just to her campaign but to the future of Duluth. Emily has charisma and a connection to Duluth and our people that is something you want to support,” said Prettner-Solon.
Larson is the only candidate in the Mayoral race right now.
