Fire at Androy Building in Hibbing

Multiple Fire Crews Respond to Blaze

HIBBING, Minn. – Hibbing fire crews and neighboring departments responded to an early morning fire at the Androy building.

The building houses senior high rise apartments, the Elk Club’s banquet center and an orthodontics clinic.

Authorities believe the cause of the fire is a steam table that was left on and overheated at the Elk Club.

Authorities say the blaze would have been worse had there not been a working sprinkler system.

The building sustained water, smoke and fire damage estimated at $65,000.

No one was injured.
