Babbitt Man to Spend 27 Yrs. Behind Bars for Killing His Mom's Boyfriend
A 26-year-old Babbitt man will be spending nearly three decades behind bars for murdering his mom’s boyfriend.
Shawn Doherty pleaded guilty to second degree murder last month.
Thursday he got his sentence of more than 27 years in prison.
He strangled 55-year-old Paul Bulen of Mahtomedi to death.
Bulen was found dead outside his girlfriend’s home last year.
He’s credited with serving 480 days of his sentence.
