A Duluth veteran who was deployed three times has been honored by Congressman Rick Nolan.

The medal-pinning ceremony included three pins for Private First Class Army Cavalry Scout Joe Heller.
And while Heller was more than honored, he said it was more about his on.

“It is the whole process that my son gets to see my sacrifice that I had to go through, and he gets to sit there and enjoy the moment with me as a dad,” said Joe Heller, the medal recipient.

Heller began serving in the army in 1996 and was deployed to Bosnia, Kosovo and then Iraq after 9/11.
