Suspicious Item Causes Hotel Evacuation

Suspects Still on the Loose

A suspicious item left at the front desk of the Holiday Inn and Express in Superior caused a four hour evacuation of the hotel Monday night.

Officers got the call around 4 p.m., because a man left an object wrapped in a t-shirt at the front desk.

The man it was intended for wasn’t a guest at the hotel.

Neither of the men have been located.

In addition to the hotel evacuation, about 20 residences surrounding the hotel were also evacuated.

The Marathon County bomb squad determined the item was not an explosive device.

The incident is still under investigation.
