Thursday was day five of the 5th Annual Duluth Dylan Fest.

Three-hundred die-hard fans boarded the North Shore Scenic Railroad for the Blood on the Tracks Express, a Bob Dylan-themed train ride to Two Harbors.

“It’s kind of a big deal I think. It’s like celebrating, literally, local music. Like, he is local as it gets I think,” said Lonnie Knutson, a Bob Dylan fan on the train.

Six bands played a mix of their own stuff and Dylan’s.

“It’s beautiful. We go over rapids and waterfalls and we’re looking at Lake Superior and listening to really amazing regional music,” said Brad Nelson, co-organizer of Dylan Fest.

Dylan fans came from across the pond.

“Just met some friends from Paris that just arrived in Minnesota today, and it’s an international crowd here,” said Zane Bail, co-organizer of Dylan Fest.

They all came together to celebrate their love of music at the sold out event.

“Music, trains, beer. What could go wrong?” smiled Knutson.

Dylan Fest runs through Sunday.
