The Superior Police Department grew by two new officers Thursday.
Casandra Collier and Brad Jago were sworn in at a ceremony in the City Council chambers.
Jago is a Superior native, and he says he looks forward to serving the community he calls home.
“It’s progressively harder these days to get a job in law enforcement,” Jago said. “There are fewer and fewer openings. Any local police department [would be good], but I’m so glad it was the Superior Police Department that chose me to come back and represent them.”
Collier is a Minnesota native, but says the Superior community has already welcomed her with open arms.
“I want everyone to trust me and come to me with any issues, good or bad,” she said.
The new recruits will attend the Wisconsin Police Recruit Academy in Rhinelander this summer, and will return to Superior by the end of August.
