Tourists could soon have a new place to stay in Virginia.
A 39-unit hotel is in the early stages of development.
The company Cobblestone Hotels is considering building on land near the Virginia Golf Course.
Mayor Larry Cuffe Jr., told Fox 21 the city is in desperate need of more lodging and it could be a great economic boost.
“We discussed some of the other things about the options they would have. A golf cart would be available for them for their guest to drive up to the golf course right up the cart path – to the golf course, have lunch or dinner. Or tour the golf course or play a round of golf,” said Mayor Cuffe.
No word on when or if the company will break ground in Virginia, a convenience store is also proposed near the hotel.
