It was a sea of green thumb enthusiasts Saturday morning in the Rose Garden parking lot.

People gathered for the 20th annual plant sale, it’s described as Black Friday for gardeners.

More than twenty local garden club had items for sale including perennials, flowering shrubs, pear trees, and much more.

“It’s been just a beautiful sunny day, lots of people out, (it’s) such a fun event. I describe it like a mad festival atmosphere, just people around talking and picking up good finds that are locally grown,” said Director of Duluth’s Community Garden Program Jahn Hibbs.

The Duluth Garden Society is behind the sale.

Proceeds go to local garden clubs to help beautify Duluth.
