Low Water Levels Won’t Keep Anglers Away from Island Lake
Anglers Say Levels Will be Beneficial

The low lake levels won’t stop anglers from hitting Island Lake for the 20th annual ALS tournament Saturday morning.
In fact, they say it may be beneficial.
“One of the good things about the lake being low is that there is less area for the fish to travel. So, the anglers should actually do better this year than normal being that the fish are concentrated,” said ALS Tournament Director, Blake Kolquist.
But, it does pose safety concerns.
So, this year directors are doing something a little extra to play it safe.
“We’re giving them some detailed maps on where some of these rocks that have never been visible are and just making sure they are aware of everything that’s around them,” said Kolquist.
Levels haven’t been this low since 2003.
Anglers will hit the water Saturday morning at 7 a.m.
