The Minnesota State Patrol is seeking to diversify its staff by considering applicants without previous experience.

As long as you have a two year degree from an accredited college you can become a Minnesota state trooper.

The agency is currently hiring through the Leto program which gives people without experience a chance to be a trooper.

“We’re trying to get a diverse work force in the state patrol and again if people are looking for a career change it’s a great opportunity, you know, if you want to become a Minnesota state trooper or a police officer in the state of Minnesota,” said Sgt. Neil Dickenson, Minnesota State Patrol.

Applications will be accepted until 4 p.m. June 16.
