Life House is putting the finishing touches on a new transitional housing program, called Solhouse, for teens who have been sexually exploited or sex trafficked.

The house will hold five teens, ages 16 through 20, and will have in–house staff 24/7.

The goal is to make this house feel like a home and not an institution.

“These kids have been the victims of a crime, they are not criminals, and so they should not be held in a juvenile detention facility or a locked facility,” said Maude Dornfeld, Executive Director at Life House. “They should be in a place where they feel safe, where they feel welcome, and where they can heal at their own place.”

The home is set to be ready for move–in at the end of June.

For those interested in making a donation to Solhouse, you can find the registry at Target – first name: Life, last name: House.
