Garage Sale Held for Duluth PD Mounted Patrol Program

Sorry, this video is no longer available

Saddles, gates and stall fronts were just a few items offered at a garage sale west of Bayfront Park.

Duluth Police say when they acquired their mounted patrol horses, a surplus of equipment came with them that the department does not need or use.

The items have been sitting in storage.

All of the profits from the sale will go back into the mounted patrol program to help pay for the boarding and maintenance of their horses.

“If we could be self–sustaining it would cost the city less,” Duluth Police mounted patrol officer Jim Matson said. “It would help keep our program around.”

Officers also tell FOX 21 they will still sell anything left over.

If interested just contact them or the City of Duluth.
